  1. For the time being, Brick Village's fleet is under complete reconstruction. Redoing all of my current rigs.

  2. My YouTube account hit 70 subscribers today, can y'all please make it 100?

Lol when I started it a little more than two years ago I sounded like I was eight lol.

  3. I'm seriously considering smashing my fleet into a pile and starting over (...)

  4. Just buffed an incident down the street from me for a family friend with extensive chest pain extending down to the stomach and up to the chin.

My father went right to the scene and called it in, then rode the ambulance to the hospital.

  5. Hope you're doing well given your circumstances!

On a side note, I have a question for you. How tall are you??

Holy cr*p. I'm only 5'10. But I'm not done lol. Hope Matthew didn't sting ya too bad.

  6. I pay too much attention to the fire service...

Was eatin' lunch with my second lieutenant and her boyfriend and she says to me, "relationships suck, don't get one," to which I replied "been there, done that. I'm married to the Fire Service."

Again, a tad too involved lol.

  7. I forgot to add in the description for Rescue 3 that it carries cascade equipment.

Anyway, I'm currently designing a tower ladder, ambulance, and two stations, so I'm a tad busy.

  8. I'm completely ditching roleplay. From now on, whatever looks good is coming to Brick Village, although I still hold my (very complicated, don't ask) stance on water-carrying and non-water-carrying units

To rephrase, I'm not doing my department based on "What it covers" anymore. Whatever I feel like building is making the cut. Although I still hold my very complicated stance on mixing units with water with units without water.

      ~JD~

That seems odd though, because you'd have units that would serve no purpose than to just just have them. A simple solution is to just add whatever to you're district to justify having whatever unit. I'm still confused about the rest of the statement though.

I really just want a lot of fire trucks. Lol.

And I said the rest of the statement was complicated.

  9. Fourth multi-car accident since Sept. 11th last night. Usually we run 40 multi-cars out of 120 overall.

  10. Some guy showed up at headquarters the other day with some cold cuts he'd found in a shopping cart in a store parking lot that he wanted to 'donate.' Thanked him for his donation and after he left promptly threw it out at the recommendation of a Lieutenant. Wasn't sure what store the man had come from or how long it had been in a cart, so yeah, we didn't really trust it.

His intentions were good but you never know, unfortunately.

They were but the whole "found it in a shopping cart" thing should have been a clue for him to trash it.

  11. My rescue company carries 25% HazMat equipment. After I get some more engines, 2 tankers , and 2 brush trucks, I'll be getting a dedicated HM unit.

    1. Edward O.

      Edward O.

@~JD~ yes I know, there are four vollie teams in my county. I was just saying that the stations are not organized like cities, so each station does not have a specialty or set units (in East Northport our trucks move around after parades and such).

    2. ~JD~

      ~JD~

@Michael P. It really does, with the rescue company being that specialty unit, you probably want that unit available for specialty calls/incidents. The truck Pierce just did for Harrisonburg and Mechanicsville (a little further back actually) come to mind for this project.

@Edward O. Oh, I getcha now. That does seem a bit complicated though to move a rescue around since that would probably require experienced and trained staff/volunteers. Hazmat and technical rescue are both difficult subsections of the fire service so to have just anyone riding rescue....I mean, I get the  department is volunteer but I don't think you can just walk up and start driving trucks and sprayin hoses, you get what I'm sayin?

    3. Edward O.

      Edward O.

@~JD~ in Brick Village there are eight people qualified to drive the rescue, and twelve firefighters with haz-tech certifications. The rescue does not run on HazMat with at least three HazMat-certified firefighters. But it mainly runs for car accidents and other "usual" calls.

  12. The website keeps crapping out...

IN OTHER NEWS... I just want 2 discuss firefighting so someone get the ball rolling.

  13. Rather serious MVA last night; sedan hit (or hit by) a pickup truck, and skidded off the road, over a trailer on the side of the road, up and into a tree. Driver self-extricated and was transported.

The pickup truck wasn't in terrible shape. Coulda been driven home except the back left wheel actually got pushed around.

Units that responded: PD car 2-3 (spare), FD Engine 6, Engine 4, Ambulance 5, Ambulance 45, Paramedic 81, 2nd Asst. Chief and 3 POVs that responded direct. Fire Police was about a quarter mile up the road and a utility unit (with a rather odd backstory) was down the road a quarter mile blocking traffic.

  14. Makin a gigantic model of ENFD headquarters so I can use it as Brick Village headquarters.

I'm just going by the pic. provided on their site is all and it looked like 5 to me and an aerial shot seemed like 4 in the back.

      Edward O.

JD, I believe there is an East Northport in Maine, Alabama, and TX in addition to NY. Were you looking at one of the other ones?

    4. ~JD~

      ~JD~

Nope, East Northport New York. Addresses, trucks and companies all matched.

Wow really? The paint looks brand new! Most trucks with a lot of age have pretty rough paint, that rig looks like it has spent a day out of the bay!

    3. Edward O.

      Edward O.

That's because it runs about 100 times a year.

    4. Edward O.

      Edward O.

@~JD~change that to 300, I made a typo. We also got a new Paramedic SUV that's been in service less than two weeks.

  16. I sorta kinda got banned from the LFA group on Facebook... I might make my own group with a few unique twists so as not to take away the LFA's membership.

I'm also considering just smashing my fleet into a pile and rebuilding every rig from scratch.

Anyway, my father said that if I can get ten UEE orders by December 1st he will buy me 3 rigs for my department!

    1. ~JD~

      ~JD~

How'd you manage to get banned if you don't mind my asking?

If you think starting from scratch will improve things then go for it. Best advice is to stick with quality over quantity. Best to have 2 great rigs than 12 bad ones.

10 orders, that seems like a challenge unless you really work at it. How would he buy you rigs exactly, just ordering the parts I assume?

    2. Edward O.

      Edward O.

Well JD, I left and then they wouldn't let me back in.

As far as ten orders go, my friend is doing some advertising work for me.

Third, yeah, it would be by ordering parts. It was either that or my own helmet, I haven't really decided yet.

    3. ~JD~

      ~JD~

Hmm, did they say you were banned or did you do something that seemed ban worthy?

Just curious what are the avenues he's using?

I figured, I'd go with practicality, what would be more useful to you? Helmets are standard issue when you get on with an FD, just sayin'.

  17. Redoing my color scheme again; unfortunately I started the new scheme right before I finished my quint; I may keep the quint that way and come up with a story for it.

I have a lot of yellow parts, so I'll keep my current yellow rig and possibly build some more. I just need to use up some yellow pieces...

    1. Edward O.

      Edward O.

They'll be like my real department: They have a base station but they get moved around every now and then after parades, events, etc.

    2. ~JD~

      ~JD~

So the yellow rigs will be like reserves, swapping between stations with the frontline rigs?

    3. Edward O.

      Edward O.

No. In my real department, the trucks have set stations, but after parades and stuff they get bounced around.

  18. New rigs... lots of new rigs are coming...

  19. Just finished a massive Kenworth T-300/Pierce tanker with not-yet-but-almost signature grille lights.

  20. My idea on 4-wide and 6-wide brush trucks:

    4-Wide: F350

    6-Wide: F550

Reasons: My local department has an F-550 Super Duty (and F-550 Ambo and BRAT), and it is wider than our other C350 utility.

  21. I picked up a water thief and an Akron deck nozzle at a garage sale for $15!

  22. Does anyone know why my blog doesn't show up on the Blog page but only on my profile?

  23. I tried to download my own file and this came up:

      Why not just post it?

  25. I'm going dark for 30 days to clear up all the controversies. See y'all on July 27th!
