  1. Keep in mind tonight and likely through the holidays, the brave men and women from dozens of SoCal fire departments are battling intense wildfires across SoCal. They do not falter, they do not waver, they continue to fight to protect hundreds of thousands of people and their homes this holiday season, and likely will not return home for Christmas. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers brothers.

  2. Happy Birthday Josh! 21 and ballin 😎

      Happy thanksgiving to you too!

  5. Not sure if anyone heard (or cares) about this but the company known as Allied Specialty Vehicles, now called REV group which owns E-one fire apparatus and Road Rescue ambulance also owns McCoy Miller (formily a Spartan affiliate) and now owns Ferrara Fire Apparatus as of this year. While ferrara is currently independent, could we seem them merge with E-one? Somewhat interesting for the major fire buffs out there.

Another tidbit on REV, they also own all of KME, from the fire division to industrial division.

Heard about this a while back, and I'm not too sure of what to think about this. I'm still glad that the three main fire apparatus (KME, E-ONE, and Ferrara) are still distinct, however, it wouldn't surprise me if they merged down the road. Interesting tidbit: most of the FDNY apparatus except for the Seagrave Scopes, HP pumpers, tillers, and a few special ops vehicles are now from the REV group. This also includes ambulances. I also heard that KME would be doing the new rescues.

I know right, not sure how to really feel about it. You can see with the ambulance manufactures they are starting to develop the same designs on their units so I wouldn’t be surprised to see the fire side move that way. Yeah, the bidding process must have loosened up for more manufactures to better compete, or Seagrave is stepping out of the FDNY business. I’ve heard FDNY and mainly the city is very difficult with the requirements of their contracts and Seagrave could no longer handle the stringent demands from the city, not sure how true it is though.

  6. Brand new engine 14 serving “the burg” in west clay county. Very sharp new paint scheme as well, might make its way into my department's paint scheme. Tender 14 is still in production but is likely to have the same paint scheme.

  7. *Sigh* Welp the storm has passed but the damage will be here awhile. Flooding is bad statewide, especially here in Jax. First responders are mobilizing with Coast Guard and National Guard assets to begin search and rescue, assessments of structures and start to return things to normal.

From my understanding, FEMA USAR teams are on site from Miami and Broward with FL USAR teams to cover as much area as possible. So far I've seen teams from Nashville, Little Rock and Phoenix to support local teams, not sure if crews from Atlanta will be heading down and heard crews from Ohio may be heading down, not sure on that. Task Force 5 (Jax) likely has more work as there is no team between Jacksonville and Tallahassee and may need to deploy west. Areas around Jax have local dept based USAR teams that are handling as much as they can right now but are spread thin as well.

Mississippi Task Force 1 is on site in Clay county with additional water rescue resources.

  8. Just sittin' here waiting on Irma, eating way to much of the hurricane food. Stay safe my Florida peeps!

  9. Well, I've decided to take the bull by the horns and organize my collection. This semester is a lot lighter than the previous one so I have more time available. The quantum and a few other side projects are now on hold while I sort out my disaster. I plugged in all the boxed sets to brickset and I have some 850+ sets I need to open and sort! Whoopy

  10. Still plugging away on the project. Hoping to have some body work done before posting. Needless to say this may be a one time build with all the work involved. And still, the collection remains a mess.

  11. Well, it's been steady progress on my build but nothing photo worthy just yet. Really need to organize my collection though, spent way to much time digging through parts. On another note, it seems like the city was going crazy today, 2 officers shot, a barricaded subject in a near by gas station, my neighbor was in a car accident and the store next to my work had an attempted robbery. What the heck is going on?

I know it, guess it was a good thing I stayed home yesterday! Hopefully, I'll have something by Monday night for you guys.

  12. Been working steady on a project and have some decent progress but nothing solid yet. Hope to have something ready by Saturday to show.

  13. Finally got some time to pull out the bricks again! I've got 10 days off from college so hopefully I can put something together so Mike isn't hogging all the gallery glory! 😉 Lol I've also been remind that my collection is extremely unorganized, so I have a side project now as well.
