How long until results are in?

Should be tomorrow, it says 2-3 business days.

  5. There hasn't been a new member in over a year. This is mildly concerning

  6. JFRD responded to a tanker rollover on the far Westside on I-10. Engines 7 and 46, Heavy Engine 143, Squad 14, Hazmat 7, Ladder 7, tanker 43 and Rescues 7, 43 and 46.

  7. New incident in the gallery! More pics can be found here!

They must have really liked the 750 lb tipload and the 60 degree cramp angle 😂

Just heard they actually cancelled the KME tiller order, which is totally surprising considering their history with KME.

    4. ~JD~

      ~JD~

Wow, that is surprising. I wonder why they cancelled.

  9. Reserve Trucks 501 and 502 are in the gallery! For more pics, visit our Instagram page here!

  10. Welp, Florida's looking like a tinderbox this fire season. My county along with dozens of others issued burn bans in the last few days and my county just issued a state of emergency. But on the lighter side I received my Lego orders from Star Wars day, so that's a plus!

  11. Finally got some working stabilizers on Tower 2 but they're a pain in the *** to actually set up

  12. Hazmat 1 is finally built and is up in the gallery! For more photos, visit our website at here!

  13. The crap day when two districts get brush fires and your district is on cover.

    1. ~JD~

      ~JD~

District 14 on the Westside of the county got a brush fire that pulled crews from 2 or 3 other stations and got us on cover and then a second brush fire occurred in District 20 on the Southeast side of the county pulling additional resources south of us. Needless to say the county is stretched thin, luckily FFS is assisting so hopefully it doesn't last long.

  14. 1,500 parts for new rigs? Check!

  15. Brand new Truck 1, Rescue 1, and engine 201 are in the gallery. Several more rigs to come soon!

  16. BrickOwl or BL? They appear virtually the same...

@~JD~ does BrickOwl use invoices or can I purchase all 35 of my lots in one go?

    3. ~JD~

      ~JD~

That I don't know, @HenryH BCFD would know since he uses Brickowl.

    4. HenryH BCFD

      HenryH BCFD

I find Brickowl to be more user friendly in terms of finding what I need. In terms of price they are both roughly the same depending on which stores you buy from.

  17. Reserve Engine 502 is now in the gallery! For more pics, check out FDCB's Instagram page!

Build the center compartment sideways or see if you can bring the sides up where the plates will meet evenly again. I'd also recess the round tiles and only use one on the center compartment.

    3. Edward O.

      Edward O.

@~JD~ tried sideways but if I do that I can't attach anything where those lights above the wheel is

    4. ~JD~

      ~JD~

If it's a two door center compartment then the handle will be more forward, with that you could attach a 1x1 brick with a stud on the side facing down where you can attach plates.

  19. Pierce releases several models for the Ascendant: a dual axle straight stick, a single axle tower ladder, and a tiller 😱

@HenryH BCFD I think the tiller is the biggest deal just because of the 7 extra feet like you said, but also the 750 lb payload capacity while lessening the weight by 4000 lbs. That's huge especially for hilly areas (Seattle area is what I'm thinking about). I honestly thought the dual axle Ascendants would be taller (Like 120' or more), but maybe that's in the future. Heck, at the rate they're going, they might be able to do a tiller tower soon.

As for the towers, I don't think they'll sell really well, just because I feel that the normal towers would suffice, plus those monitors are in an awful position. The towers actually remind me of the Rosenbauer Raptor, except with a lot more compartment space. Now, if we're talking about congested areas like Boston or the Northeast, there might be a market there; however, harsh winters would be a problem. The real question with the single-axle tower is: how long will that rig last if it's loaded with 500 gal of water along with the pump, and your standard tools? I get that they're trying to jam-pack the rig with every conceivable tool, but I don't think that's a great idea...

    3. HenryH BCFD

      HenryH BCFD

@Michael P. I agree completely about the towers, the bucket and monitor design is awful, and I just don't see a real market for it.  The size would be good for Boston, but with how loaded up it is, I think durability would be a major concern.

      Michael P.

@HenryH BCFD Unless the pump and tank are removed, I see this kind of vehicle lasting 10 yrs tops even with maintenance. The buckets do provide a safer place to do vent work for 1 maybe 2 people, but I guess we will see what kind of reception Pierce will get. I do have high hopes for the dual axle straight stick and the tiller. I'd like to see LAFD or San Francisco get one of the Ascendant tillers, and I think it's the perfect kind of rig because it's much lighter than the current rigs, hence longer life span of the rig.

  20. Any ideas as to what Pierce will be unveiling tomorrow?

@~JD~ @Michael P.  I agree, airports and industrial fire departments could be a good market for the 110' dual axle.  As for the single axle, I just don't see it selling.

    3. ~JD~

      ~JD~

Not sure why there's so much hate towards the single axle tower, you get storage, maneuverability and reach in a compact package. As a straight truck the rig has possibilities, it can likely replace midmount towers and even tillers for departments looking for a compact tower.

    4. Michael P.

      Michael P.

@~JD~ Not really hating the on the rig, but I think it'll take a while to catch on. Unlike our European counterparts, everything in the US is bigger because #Murica lol

  21. So this weekend was nuts, big fight at the local mall that had 5 arrested, a shooting in the north area of my district and a shooting with homicide in the neighborhood next to mine. Along with all the brush fires popping up it's kept everyone busy.

The ladder has such a long overhang. It's like they tried to put a rear mount ladder on a mid mount body lol

@Michael, that's not that much overhang for Germans xD We deal with that on almost every German ladder truck ;)

@~JD~ I wanted to test out how the body would fit a standard cab before I tried it on the Quantum. Now since the bodies will be modular, I can simply put the different body configurations on the various cabs that I have :D If you really want to see what it would look like, I suppose I can snap a few photos of what Engine 2 will look like in the future!

Yes, very tragic circumstances caused his dead. We sent a proper donation via FDNY Foundation to William N. Tolley's Children's Educational Fund which will support his daughter.

  26. 2nd version of midmount should be up later
